Why it matters

A legal duty, done in public.

Not a reason to panic, but worth getting right the first time.

It's the law at 50+ staff

Under the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 and S.I. 264/2022 (as amended), employers with 50 or more employees on their June snapshot date must publish a report every year.

It's public

Reports go on your own website, and the Government's Gender Pay Gap Portal lets anyone view and compare employers' figures. The Department says portal reporting will be required for the 2026 cycle.

It can be enforced

An employee can complain to the Workplace Relations Commission, which can order you to comply (appealable to the Labour Court, with decisions published by name). IHREC can also ask the Circuit Court or High Court for a compliance order.

Your people will read it

Staff, candidates and clients can see your figures and your explanation. A clear statement with real measures reads far better than a bare number.

The maths is easy to get wrong

Hourly pay must include bonus, long-period bonuses need adjusting, quartiles are ranked across everyone with a rule for ties, and part-time and temporary gaps are reported separately.

How it works

An afternoon, not a project.

Your payroll file is processed in memory and never stored.

  1. Export your payroll to our CSV template

One row per employee on your snapshot date: gender, pay, bonus, hours, benefit-in-kind, and part-time and temporary flags. No names needed. Start from the CSV template, or try the sample data first.

  2. Upload it and get a free preview

Every row is checked before anything is calculated, with row-by-row error messages so you can fix the file and upload again. Your mean and median hourly pay gaps appear straight away, free of charge.

  3. Pay to unlock every figure

One payment per reporting year unlocks all the statutory figures and pay quartiles, plus an editable draft of your statement of reasons and measures, pre-filled with your figures.

  4. Edit your statement and download the PDF

Rewrite the statement in your own words, then download a draft PDF report to check before you publish it on your website and the portal. We never keep a copy of your payroll data.

The report, explained

What goes into an Irish gender pay gap report.

What it is

A yearly report comparing men's and women's average hourly pay across your whole organisation. It isn't an equal-pay audit: a gap can exist even when everyone is paid the same for the same job, for example when more men hold senior roles.

Who has to publish

Employers with 50 or more employees on the snapshot date they choose in June.

When it's due

Within five months of your snapshot date. For a June snapshot that means 30 November at the latest.

The figures required

  • Mean and median hourly pay gap, for all employees
  • The same for part-time employees and for temporary contracts
  • Mean and median bonus gap
  • % of men and of women paid a bonus
  • % of men and of women receiving benefit-in-kind
  • % of men and of women in each pay quartile
  • A written statement of the reasons for any gap and the measures you're taking or plan to take

WomenMen

Everyone is ranked together, not men and women separately, then divided into four equal groups. Staff on the same rate who straddle two groups are split in proportion to their gender mix (Reg 10(3)).

Pricing

Common questions

Who has to report?

Employers with 50 or more employees on their chosen June snapshot date. Reports are due within five months of that date (S.I. 212/2025) and must be published on your website or otherwise made public. The Department says reporting through its Gender Pay Gap Portal will also be required for the 2026 cycle.

What happens if we don't publish?

The gender pay gap rules don't set a fixed fine. An employee can complain to the Workplace Relations Commission, which can order you to comply (appealable to the Labour Court, and decisions name both parties). The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission can apply to the Circuit Court or High Court for an order requiring you to comply.

What if our payroll export doesn't match the template?

Rearrange your export into the template's columns (the upload page explains each one). The upload checks every row and lists any problems with their row numbers, so you can fix them and upload again. Nothing is calculated until the file passes.

Do you store our payroll data?

No. Files are processed in memory to calculate your figures and build your PDF, then discarded. We keep only purchase details (for receipts and tax records). See our Privacy Policy.

Is this legal advice?

No. PayGap Pro is software that does the calculations and drafts a report. You remain responsible for your data and what you publish. Each report explains the method used.

What do I get after paying?

A one-time download token. Upload your CSV, review all figures, edit your statement and download the PDF. Your browser remembers the token for you.
